Here is a summary of responsibilities: Develops, coordinates, and manages STAR House program activities to include strategic planning; coordination of data collection and analysis; supervision of staff and volunteers; financial and budget management; and community development.
Are you qualified?
Bachelors Degree, plus 5-7 years of management experience. Experience should include strategic planning and capacity building, public relations, supervisory and personnel management, and financial management. Experience with non-profit organizations, development planning and fundraising, and working with a Board of Directors is preferred.
Knowledge of:
• Strategic planning development and implementation process
• After-school programs
• Board governance and policy development
• Design and implementation of public relations, community outreach, media relations and fundraising programs
• Human resource management, including hiring and performance reviews
• Principles and practices of effective public speaking
• Financial reporting, budget preparation, and financial oversight
•Ability to plan, organize, manage and integrate the activities of the organization.
• Analyze and make sound recommendations on the long-term goals of the organization
• Facilitate the development and implementation of the strategic plan
• Represent STAR House effectively in public settings and development activities
• Communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.
• Prepare clear, concise and comprehensive correspondence, reports, studies and other written materials.
• Exercise sound, expert independent judgment and political acumen within general policy guidelines.
• Exercise tact, diplomacy and discretion in dealing with highly sensitive, complex, confidential and controversial issues and situations.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, board members, business and community leaders, employees, the public and others encountered in the course of work.
